Private Dining

Terms of Business

All private dining bookings at The Folly are subject to the following terms of business;

  1. To book private space we require your debit / credit card details to guarantee your booking.

  2. Quoted prices include VAT.

  3. Unless stated otherwise drinks are not included in set menu prices.

  4. A discretionary charge of 13.5% will be added your bill. If you would like this to be changed or removed please let us know. 100% of service is shared amongst our team.

  5. Pre-orders. For groups of 12 or more people a pre-order is usually needed. This can be provided up to ten days before the day of the event and is organised via a simple online ordering system. We ask that the pre-order is finalised 10 days before the event. If a pre-order is difficult for you to organise please let us know and we will explain what alternative options are possible.

  6. Cancellation when a hire fee has been paid. Cancellations can be made up to 30 days before the event, with a 50% refund of the hire fee. Cancellations received within 30 days forfeit the hire fee.

  7. Our cancellation policy for food pre-orders is as follows: full cancellation is permitted up to 72 hours before the event at no cost; full cancellations made within the 72-hour window will incur a charge of 50% of the total pre-ordered food value. For partial cancellations, we require at least 24 hours’ notice, after that any pre-ordered food will be prepared and charged in full.

  8. Unless we have agreed in advance to payment via invoice, all food and drinks must be paid on the day of the event and we will need to know the appointed person who is responsible for making payment.

  9. Oxford University departments can make payment via the University’s payment system. In this situation we will need to receive a Purchase Order before the event.

  10. Menus are seasonal and vary throughout the year. Please note that we may make substitutions where an ingredient is no longer available.

  11. Please let us know in advance about any special dietary requirements or allergies.

  12. Any damage to the premises must be made good by the event organiser.
